Announcing our Expansion to include the Costa Brava
With the increased availability of flights to Girona Airport which is an hour north of Barcelona and in the heart of a cluster of excellent courses we have decided to commence offering this region in addition to the ever popular Costa del Sol and Algarve.
Ryanair now use Girona as a hub with direct flights from Scotland, Dublin, Shannon, London Stansted and a variety of continental European cities.
We have put together sample packages available on request and including the iconic PGA Catalunya course which is one of the courses used for the European PGA qualifying tour each year, the Links and Forest course at Emporda Golf and Platya D’Aro with its spectacular views over the Mediterranean.

We have also selected quality four and five star hotels in Girona and in the sea-side resort of Platja D’Aro.
The area offers all the other excellent mix of culture and nightlife that regular visitors to the Costa del Sol expect. So for regular visitors to the Costa del Sol who are looking for a change of scenery and excellent golf we would recommend the Costa Brava.
Incentive Golf! – Invite a few Clients
An increasing number of our clients are inviting groups of business associates, customers or staff for short trips to the Costa del Sol for a few rounds of golf. There is absolutely no better way to show your appreciation to, or build a relationship with valued clients than to invite them away for a few days golf. It’s also a very cost-efficient way of relationship building.
Small groups between 4 and 8 work extremely well especially if you can invite them to pay a couple of more iconic course that golfers dream about but wouldn’t normally indulge in, such as Valderrama, Sotogrande, La Reserva or San Roque Old.

In relation to the idea of organizing client or staff trips here we would like you to consider a novel and interesting option which will really add another dimension to such a trip.
On one of your golfing days we will organize a Pro-Am day whereby we put local English speaking Professional in each four-ball and the courses will be selected according to budget.

Rental of Golf Clubs in Spain.
Regular visitors will have noticed a growing number of airlines are charging for carrying golf clubs. While airfares are probably at their cheapest in aviation history the tendency to charge for everything means that club-hire at your destination may be beginning to makes sense.
While we appreciate that all serious golfers will always want to play with their own clubs, for the less than serious, who make up a big slice of the market, or those on a very short trip playing perhaps only a couple of times it may indeed make sense to rent on arrival.
Golf Experience has teamed up with a leading player in the club-hire market here on the Costa del Sol allowing us to offer a 3 day rental for as little as €60 which includes delivery and collection.
Planning Ahead.
We would make our annual appeal regarding planning golf trips that you take into account other upcoming sporting events such as football, rugby cricket etc which you will want to watch whilst on your trip. If we (you) know in advance we can work around the problem and arrange tee-times to suit. We must say the worst offenders in this area are Munster Rugby supporters.
It’s almost as if they don’t expect to qualify for the next round of anything !!! You know who you are boys!

San Pedro Tunnel
You have been warned – the earth is moving under San Pedro de Alcantara. Work on the San Pedro tunnel has started. We have no idea what disruption this will cause but let’s just say it will, for at least 2 years after which all will be wonderful.
Book cars for Summer
Our other annual appeal for those needing cars for family holidays during school breaks, especially people carriers. Please let us know your requirements as soon as possible as these vehicles are in short supply.

Volvo Masters 2007.
For anyone planning to include the Volvo Masters in their 2007 trip please note that the final day this year is Sunday November 4th – normally it is the last Sunday in October.
