Some information about Almenara Golf Club

The Almenara Golf Club is situated in the “Urbanización de Sotogrande”, an upmarket residential area, on the shores of the Mediterranean, with magnificent views of the coast and the mountains to the interior.

Almenara Golf Club boasts 27 holes and an academy and has had a complete renovation in recent years at the Almenara Hotel (Now a 5-star property and part of the Sofitel chain) rebranded SO Sotogrande.

The course was designed by Dave Thomas has created a real challenge for the skillful golfer, with undulating fairways and deep bunkers. Almenara is a well-manicured course with a variety of challenges intelligence and accuracy. The most notable features of the course are the proliferation of water and the three very distinct nines. The first runs through a wooded area (Los Pinos) which is characteristic of Sotogrande, the second runs through a more open area where there is a spectacular lake (Los Lagos), and the third stretch contains some of the most impressive tees in Europe (Los Arcornoques) and also runs past a series of big lakes, so you will enjoy very different scenery on each set of nine holes.
